Ciabatta Bread
Serves: 8 loaves
  • 2½ tsp Instant Yeast
  • 9 cups All Purpose Flour
  • 5 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 4 cup Warm Water
  1. Add flour to the mixing bowl of your mixer and add the yeast and salt to it. Mix well, so the salt and yeast is well incorporated. Using the hook attachment of your mixer, start adding water gradually while mixing. The dough should be pretty sticky.
  2. Add oil to mixer and keep mixing for about 5 minutes.
  3. Turn the dough over onto an oiled surface and continue kneading for another 3 minutes. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, oil the dough all around and cover the bowl with plastic wrap.
  4. Let the dough rise for 2½ hours. After 2½ hours turn the dough over onto a well floured surface and cut it into 8 pieces. Form each piece into a roll and let it rise again for another 45 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 500° F / 260° C a few minutes before placing the rolls in the oven.
  6. Bake the bread for 12 minutes.
